Thanks for doing this bud. I appreciate it. Could you introduce yourself to anyone who doesn’t already know you?

Yo it’s your boy Kevin. I sing in Cujo used to sing in a band called Malice as well. I like long walks on the beach and sipping mai Thais lol.

What was your introduction to punk and hardcore?

Kinda wierd but I got into punk from this nazi kid in middle school in graham. kinda funny but he was the one who showed me Sex Pistols, ramones, Dead Kennedys, black flag etc. I moved to Renton my 9th grade year and met Jake, Calvin and all those guys and they pretty introduced me to hc and took me to local shows and shit like that. My first local hc show was Made For War haha my first touring show was probably full blown chaos, walls of Jericho and Bury Your Dead show In 2005 I think. God it’s hard to remember.

We met when Malice was in it's early days. Could you tell me about how that band came to be, what you guys sounded like for anyone that might not be familiar and some of your favorite memories of the band?

Malice came to be when we saw Ill Intent in the early days and I had to be a part of something like that. we used to be a faster more punk type of band and slowly become more of a no warning worship band. Favorite memories was probably playing a show down in Portland with stress relief and local bands from there I forget but we pretty much partied so hard at the stripclub across the street we almost missed our own set lol felt super bad but fuck it man that memory lives in my head forever.

What are some of your favorite memories and shows?

So many memories man! Every rain fest was incredible! And going to all the locals shows was always such a good time. Anytime Ill Intent would play we would be there and fucking shit up lol. All the west Seattle legion hall shows were so fun.

After Malice became inactive, you started doing vocals in Cujo, which is more raw and d beat than Malice was. Could you talk about how that band came together, some of your influences for it and what you guys want to do with the band going forward?

Cujo is Jarvis’s thing we first started with Pete from Ill intent on drums, Landon, and David creed and they all cool guyed us (just joking) lol. After that cody played guitar and Benn from power played drums and the sound we created from that was kinda finally the sound we were looking for. Influences for me was pretty much I just wanted to sound like Anti Cimex’s Scandinavian jawbreaker front to back. That album fucking rips. Don’t know what our future holds we will keep rocking but if we don’t we don’t.

What does the NWHC scene mean to you?

NWHC scene means the world to me. I love everybody in this scene. Met some of the best people, worked with the best people. Nwhc is my life man. All the new kids and bands are incredible. Also want to give a huge shout out to Max from Ego Death that kid is NWHC.

Who are some of your all time favorite nwhc bands?

Power, Ill Intent, wreck, Black Breath, Odd Man Out, Juice, By All Meanz, End Of Dayz, Punitive Damage, Video Prick, Dead Weight, Ego Death.

Who are your favorite current locals or bands you think people are sleeping on?

I feel like these days local bands are thriving but to name some peeps need to check out are Wake Of Humanity, Chopping Block is so sick. oh Unjust baby

What would you like to see from the scene currently?

I love the scene right now, it’s a powerful scene. Everybody does their part and it’s a strong scene I wouldn’t mind seeing more bands, more venues more of Melanie’s cupcakes and treats haha.

Is there anything you’d like to leave people with?

Support NWHC, go to fucking shows.

Last question, how many pairs of Cody's Nikes have you creased for him and more importantly when is Malice playing a reunion?

Hahaha yo so many I honestly feel so bad thinking back at it. I was fucked up man. when is malice playing again? If you care at all just keep them eyes peeled.
